Hemocytes in Drosophila melanogaster embryos move via heterogeneous anomalous diffusion

چکیده
Abstract Drosophila melanogaster hemocytes are highly motile cells that crucial for successful embryogenesis and have important roles in the organism’s immunological response. Here we measure motion of using selective plane illumination microscopy. Every hemocyte cell one half an embryo is tracked during analysed a deep learning neural network. We show anomalous transport well described by fractional Brownian heterogeneous both time space. LanB1 SCAR mutants disrupt collective cellular reduce its persistence due to modification laminin actin-based motility respectively. The oscillated with alternating periods varying persistent motion. Touching appear experience synchronised contact inhibition locomotion. A quantitative statistical framework presented which provides biological insights.

Sessile hemocytes as a hematopoietic compartment in Drosophila melanogaster.
The blood cells, or hemocytes, in Drosophila participate in the immune response through the production of antimicrobial peptides, the phagocytosis of bacteria, and the encapsulation of larger foreign particles such as parasitic eggs; these immune reactions are mediated by phylogenetically conserved mechanisms. The encapsulation reaction is analogous to the formation of granuloma in vertebrates,...
متن کاملTracking individual nanodiamonds in Drosophila melanogaster embryos
In this work, we incorporate and image individual fluorescent nanodiamonds in the powerful genetic model system Drosophila melanogaster. Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and wide-field imaging techniques are applied to individual fluorescent nanodiamonds in blastoderm cells during stage 5 of development, up to a depth of 40 μm. The majority of nanodiamonds in the blastoderm cells during ce...
متن کاملTempered anomalous diffusion in heterogeneous systems
[1] Passive tracers in heterogeneous media experience preasymptotic transport with scale-dependent anomalous diffusion, before eventually converging to the asymptotic diffusion limit. We propose a novel tempered model to capture the slow convergence of sub-diffusion to a diffusion limit for passive tracers in heterogeneous media. Previous research used power-law waiting times to capture the tim...

متن کاملHeterogeneous and anomalous diffusion inside lipid tubules.
Self-assembled lipid tubules with crystalline bilayer walls are promising candidates for controlled drug delivery vehicles on the basis of their ability to release preloaded biological molecules in a sustained manner. While a previous study has shown that the release rate of protein molecules from lipid tubules depends on the associated molecular mass, suggesting that the pertinent diffusion fo...
